Bodies concerned have stressed the need for promoting and achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).
They made such remarks at an interaction on ‘Understanding and Engaging with United Nations Global Compact in the Era of Sustainable Development Goals’ here on Wednesday.
The interaction also shared experiences of business communities, and discussed ways to promote understanding on how to contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda by associating with the UN Global Compact.
On the occasion, UNDP Nepal Country Director Renaud Meyer said that role of business communities was crucial in achieving the SDGs.
Similarly, Global Compact, Nepal Chairperson Sulochona Shrestha Shah asserted that the Global Compact Nepal is looking forward to interacting with authorities concerned at different levels, from promoting the SDGs to aligning business processes and strategies with the SDGs.
Also, Global Compact General Secretary Yogesh Satyal and members Samir Thapa and Nabina Shrestha shed lights on its achievements and future programs.
