Protest programs allowed only in seven places in Capital from July 17

The government has warned of taking action against those involved in staging demonstrations at other places where protest programs are barred.


The Ministry of Home Affairs Thursday organized a press conference to inform that the demonstrators can only stage their protest programs at only seven different places as declared by the government.


“The decision will come into effect from July 17,” Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa said, “Action will be against those staging demonstrations at other places in the Capital.”


Minister Thapa informed that the seven different places have been fixed keeping in mind the security system and traffic management.


Earlier, the meeting of Kathmandu District Security Committee on April 13 had fixed the places for staging  demonstrations.


The protest programs can be staged at Khullamanch, Tinkune ground, Bhuikhel ground, Pepsikola sport ground, in front of Lainchaur Social Welfare Council and Sifal ground.
