Homemade Tattoo Care Cream

Got inked? Well then, you better get yourself a good aftercare cream too. You want something that moisturizes, has vitamins A, E, and D, reduces inflammation, soothes the skin, protects it as well, disinfects, and doesn’t clog your pores, not to mention that, of course, you want it to be natural and organic, too. No harsh chemicals on both new and old tattoos.

What You Need:

• 2 Tablespoons Beeswax


• 1.5 Tablespoon Coconut oil


• 1 Tablespoon of Shea Butter


• 1 Vitamin E Capsule


• 3 Drops Argan Oil

 

What To Do:

Once you have all the ingredients ready, it is more or less a matter of just mixing it all together. But first thing’s first, check your Coconut oil and Shea Butter. If you live in a cold area, these tend to harden up. When making your homemade tattoo care cream, you want them to be in liquid form to make sure everything blends well. So you can just quickly pop those two in the microwave for a minute or so if that is the case.

Once melted, prick your Vitamin E capsule and squeeze out the good stuff then add the rest of your ingredients. Mix. Mix well. Move to a clean container with a lid and you are done. Let it cool down before applying. If you have a rather big tattoo, you can always double or even triple the recipe. But do remember that a little goes a long way.

How To Apply:

You basically want to apply your homemade tattoo care cream at least twice a day, especially when your ink is fresh. But remember, you always want wash your tattoo first. Do so with a mild, unscented soap. Let me put a little more emphasis on the word MILD. Again, no harsh ingredients on tattoos. Pat dry and then gently rub on some of your homemade tattoo care cream. Do so in the morning and at night before you go to bed.

• Tip: For new tattoos, if it gets itchy throughout the day, aside from the care cream, you can even just pat on some argan oil.
