LALITPUR: Brigade Boys Club won the title of the Lalit Memorial U-18 Championship here at the ANFA Complex grounds on Friday.
BBC defeated defending champions Tribhuvan Army Club 1-0 in the final match. Anup Gurung scored the solitary goal of the match in the 87th minute to seal BBC’s victory. With the title, BBC earned Rs 300,000, while TAC received Rs 150,000. TAC’s Dinesh Henjan and Bikash Khawas were named the best forward and defender respectively, while BBC trio Akash Ranabhat (goalkeeper), Jay Gurung (midfielder) and Ujen Shrestha (coach) also got the individual awards. They earned Rs 10,000 each.
National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista, All Nepal Football Association President Karma Tsering Sherpa and General Secretary Indra Man Tuladhar handed over the prizes to the winners.
The tournament is organised by ANFA in memory of its acting president Lalit Krishna Shrestha, who was electrocuted at his residence in 2015.
