Senior neurosurgeon Dr Upendra Devkota passes away

Senior Neurosurgeon Prof Dr Upendra Devkota, who was suffering from gallbladder cancer, has passed away at Bansbari-based Neuro Hospital at 5:35 pm on Monday. He was 63.

He had returned home after six months after undergoing treatment in the United Kingdom.

The mortal remains of Devkota will be kept at Neuro Hospital on Tuesday from 8 am to 1 pm for paying final tributes. The body will be then taken to Pashupati Aryaghat for cremation.

Born on December 24, 1953, Devkota had significantly contributed to the growth and development of neurosurgery services in Nepal.

He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
