KATHMANDU: The hosts Russia will take on Saudi Arabia in the opening fixture of FIFA World Cup 2018 at the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow at 8:45 pm today.
Both teams are ranked lowest in this month’s FIFA rankings amongst world cup finalists. Football fans all over the world are awaiting to witness their teams performance in the globe’s biggest event.
Saudi Arabia are ranked 67th in this month’s FIFA ranking where as the hosts are ranked three positions down to 70th. Meanwhile, both the teams are going through run of path forms.
Prior to today’s match, Russia have not won the last seven fixtures while Saudi have also lost back to back three matches.
Today’s encounter is an evenly poised match between the two lowest ranking teams in this edition of World Cup.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Mohamed Salah’s Egypt will take on Luis Suarez’s Uruguay in first match (5: 45 pm), In second fixture African side Morocco will lock horns with Asian side Iran (8:45pm.
Two heavyweights, European Champion Portugal and former world champion Spain will contest in a mouth watering fixture around 11:45 pm tomorrow.
