National Paddy Plantation Day marked

People across the country are celebrating Asar Pandra, also known as National Paddy Plantation Day by planting paddy in their fields on Friday.

The day is observed by singing and dancing in the traditional folk songs in the rice transplantation program. The day is also marked by feasting on a mixture of curd and beaten rice, popularly known as Dahi-Chiura.

The government has been observing Asar 15 of the Nepali calendar every year as the National Paddy Plantation Day since 2061 BS.
