19th National Sanitation Action Week begins in Bhaktapur

Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Coordination Committee, Bhaktapur has launched the 19th National Sanitation Action Week from today.


The Week started on the occasion of the World Environment Day (June5) has various programs related to sanitation and environment conservation like a government employee is required to plant a tree sapling, the monitoring of sanitation following declaration of a free open-defecation area, and making public of strategic plan of the district for sanitation.


Under the Week, the Hanumante Clean-up Campaign will also observe its 15th week on coming Saturday, said Nawaraj Gelal, Committee coordinator and chief of the district coordination committee.


On the occasion of the World Environment Day, under the one-civil servant-one fruit sapling campaign, one fruit sapling will be planted around the office of all government offices of the district and the District Administration Office will be notified of it, said Chief District Officer Narayan Datta Bhatta.
