Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has briefed former PMs about the upcoming Nepal visit of Indian PM Narendra Modi.
Oli briefed former PMs Sher Bahadur Deuba, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Baburam Bhattarai, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Lokendra Bahadur Chand, and former chairman of council of ministers Khila Ra Regmi at his official residence Baluwatar on Tuesday.
Oli informed them that the government is trying to sign agreements on water way, railway and agriculture that were announced earlier. Oli called the upcoming Modi visit a continuity of his earlier visit of India, according to Regmi.
Former PM Bhattarai also tweeted that the former PMs advised Oli about Modi’s visit according to their capacity. He, however, did not reveal what suggestions he gave.
The Cabinet meeting on Monday had finalized schedule of Modi’s two-day visit starting on May 11.
Oli also discussed about the government’s policies and programs, and the upcoming budget for the next fiscal year with his predecessors.
Oli also raised the issue of transfer of settlements with priority during the meeting, according to the PM’s secretariat, pointing that mismanaged settlements stymie development.
