Minister for Forests and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet has said that the activities related to the preservation of biodiversity by keeping humans in the center will be sustainable.
Speaking in a program organized to mark International Biodiversity Day in the Ministry Tuesday, Basnet noted that the nature conservation was utmost but social needs should be prioritized without affecting the ecosystem.
Similarly, National Planning Commission member Dr Krishna Prasad Oli urged the concerned sides to lessen natural risk while conducting the developmental projects.
Secretary at the Ministry Dr Bishwa Nath Oli shared that the Nepal had achieved various achievements after Nepal became the party member of the Biodiversity Convention.
He added that the government has forwarded various programs aimed at preserving the biodiversity. The Ministry is marking the day under the banner of ’25 years of Biodiversity Convention: Certainty of secured life’.
