Biratnagar-based Camp Office of the Embassy of India has been closed on Monday.
The office was opened in 2008 to deal with the situation arising out of devastating Koshi floods has been closed as purpose of opening the Camp Office was fulfilled, said a spokesperson at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu.
The embassy spokesperson further said that they had already decided to wind up the Camp Office and re-locate the personnel. This decision was conveyed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his Nepali counterpart during his visit to Nepal last week.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had reiterated to close the office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was taking diplomatic initiations to this end.
