Motorola has officially entered the Nepali market with the launch of four new feature-packed smartphones — Moto E4 Plus, Moto E4, Moto C Plus and Moto C — at an event held on October 24. The models belong to Motorola’s popular E Series and C Series range of smartphones and were revealed earlier this year in Motorola’s bid to target first-time smartphone buyers. Lifecom Pvt Ltd, authorised distributor of Lenevo mobile phones in Nepal has been tasked with distributing the new Motorola handsets as well as with handling the brand’s after-sales service through Lifecom’s master service centre in Kathmandu and other authorised service partners spread throughout the country. Stressing that Motorola has the perfect opportunity to lead the Nepali smartphone market, Amit Agrawal, Managing Director at Lifecom said, “We have collaborated with Motorola to bring new, innovative and unique gadgets for Nepali consumers. Furthermore, we will be launching unique marketing programmes to ensure more people are enthusiastic about new phones from Motorola.”
Moto E Series
The two phones launched under the E Series come with many updated features, including a sleek design with a metal body, powerful battery, high-quality cameras, finger print sensors and an affordable price range. According to Sudhin Mathur, Country Manager at Motorola Mobility and Lenevo Business Group, India, the two smartphones under the E Series capture the attention of today’s youth by providing all the features mandatory in a high-functioning smartphone. “We are very optimistic that these devices will delight Nepali consumers since they are affordably priced and don’t compromise on available features,” he said.
The Moto E4 Plus offers users a stock Android experience; it runs Nougat 7.1.1 and flaunts a sleek and stylish design with a metal body and gorilla glass protection. The phone sports a 5.5-inch FHD display, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera with selfie flash. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD card. It packs a massive 5,000mAh battery that can last days. The phone features a fingerprint sensor below the display that doubles as a home button, and is priced at Rs 20,990.
The Moto E4 also runs Nougat 7.1.1 and possesses a metal body with gorilla glass protection. However, the smartphone is smaller in comparison to the Moto E4 Plus, sporting a 5-inch HD display. The phone features an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and a 5MP front-facing camera. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD card, and packs adecent 2,800mAh battery. The phone provides easy accessibility through a fingerprint sensor and is priced at Rs 16,290.
Moto C Series
The new smartphones launched under the Moto C Series have been hailed as the perfect smartphones for consumers who would like to experience advanced features without straining their budget. Mathur said, “The two devices under Moto C will definitely attract Nepali consumers who don’t want to burn a hole in their pockets for an enhanced and state-of-the-art smartphone experience. These phones serve our consumers with the unique Moto experience.”
The Moto C Plus runs Nougat 7.1 and has a 5-inch HD display. It comes with 2GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 16GB expandable via a memory card. The phone features an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. It also packs a powerful 4,000mAh battery and is priced at Rs 13,990.
The Moto C also runs Nougat 7.1 and comes with a 5-inch display. The phone has a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie shooter. The Moto C comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via a memory card. It is powered by a 2,350mAh battery and is priced at Rs 10,990.
The four phones will soon be followed by more offerings from Motorola, which hopes to rapidly expand its presence in the Nepali market. BV Malikarjuna Rao, Head of Sales, Motorolla Mobility India, said, “The launch of these four phones just marks the beginning of Motorola’s journey in the Nepali market. Soon, we will be launching phones under the G Series which are very popular in India and we will make sure our other flagship smartphones enter the Nepali market as soon as possible.”
